In today’s office environment, greater emphasis is being placed on creating more comfortable, flexible, and less formal workspaces. As a result, the task chair now serves not only a practical purpose but also becomes a visible part of the interior. Responding to this trend, NARBUTAS introduces SILORA — a new task chair that expands its office seating range with a combination of expressive aesthetics and carefully considered ergonomics. Its design brings together visual lightness, functionality, and the comfort needed for long working hours throughout the day.
A Sculptural Form Shaped by Function
SILORA’s distinctive design is defined by dual lumbar support that adapts to the user’s movements. International industrial design studio ITO Design transformed this ergonomic solution into an expressive three-dimensional backrest structure. Smooth, embracing lines give the chair a refined character and create an easily recognisable silhouette. SILORA’s sculptural design has already received international recognition, earning the prestigious iF Design Award.
Expressive Texture and Added Depth
The chair’s distinctive character is further enhanced by the new three-dimensional Rhythm mesh. Its soft, organic texture and volumetric structure add visual depth to the design, while the darker colour palette reinforces SILORA’s elegant and understated appearance.
Rhythm mesh can be used on both the backrest and seat or combined with materials from the standard fabric collection. This provides greater freedom to create either cohesive or contrasting combinations and makes it easy to adapt SILORA’s appearance to different workplace styles and settings.
Ergonomics That Adapts to the User
A modern task chair should support a comfortable sitting position and help maintain proper body alignment even during extended periods of work. SILORA features dual lumbar support and a synchronous mechanism with a 3° forward tilt function, helping to reduce strain on the lower back and encourage more active sitting. A wide range of adjustments makes it easy to tailor the chair to individual needs, including seat height and depth, backrest resistance, and a choice of adjustable 2D or 3D armrests.
Another advantage of SILORA is its simple tool-free assembly. Carefully designed backrest and armrest fittings allow the chair to be prepared for use in just a few simple steps. This solution saves time and reflects the NARBUTAS principle of “Nothing Unnecessary”, while also supporting more efficient use of resources.
