The updated PET felt palette: more colour, sustainability and possibilities

In the new NARBUTAS collections, PET felt is used ever more often — and not by chance. This material has proven itself as sturdy, functional, aesthetically attractive and environmentally safe. More than 60% of the PET felt used by the company is produced from recycled raw materials.

To meet clients’ requirements even better and support the CO₂ emissions reduction strategy, we have updated the standard PET felt palette. It has become not only wider in colour coverage but also more versatile in terms of compatibility with other materials. In addition, thanks to production in Europe, logistics have become more efficient and eco-friendly.

The main advantage — versatility

The new palette is almost double the previous one: instead of 12, 21 colours are now available, 11 of which were developed exclusively for NARBUTAS. These shades were selected taking into account real needs: they suit different tasks, interiors and product types.

PET felt is widely used in our acoustic solutions, partitions, accessories and decorative elements. Therefore, when updating the palette, we placed a bet on practicality and maximum adaptability.

The colours in the new line are mostly neutral, calm, inspired by nature. They fit perfectly into any interiors and remain relevant regardless of trends.

Compatibility with other materials — at a new level

We strove to ensure that every PET felt shade combines easily with other finishes, including textile, wood, metal, melamine and HPL.

For example, the massive legs of PARTHOS tables, covered with PET felt, must combine with various tabletops. In the SONUS acoustic room, where PET felt is used as a decorative and functional element, the material must work organically in combination with glass, carpet, metal and other textures.

The mélange effect, achieved through multicoloured fibres, makes the material visually soft and flexible in use. We also paid special attention to synchronisation with the textile collection — most PET felt shades have precise colour pairs in the NARBUTAS fabric line.

You can compare and select the optimal combinations using a special visual tool developed for selecting finishes.

Reliable, light and eco-friendly

PET felt is not only about aesthetics. It has excellent sound insulation, lightness and resistance to mechanical impact. The material is easy to process: it can be bent, cut, patterned — all without compromising strength. The colours do not fade, and the surface itself is easy to clean.

Although PET felt outwardly resembles traditional felt, it is in fact plastic made of recycled raw materials. More than 60% of the material we use has already been recycled. And most importantly — PET felt has the potential for full recycling in the future. This technology is actively developing and is becoming ever closer to industrial implementation.

A strategic focus — sustainability

Sustainable development is one of the main priorities of NARBUTAS. That is precisely why in 2025 we began cooperation with a new European supplier of PET felt. This partnership made it possible not only to shorten logistics chains and reduce the carbon footprint but also to bring us closer to a circular production model.

Together with our new partner, we offer clients high-quality PET felt that meets modern requirements — both in the interior and in sustainability.
